Lost Alamos: Music

Puzzles . . .

(Lost Alamos)

Not sure what this is.  A love song?  Sure, that's it, a love song.  Or maybe . . .

   If the mountain could walk

down to the sea so they could talk

   What would they say?

What would they say about you and me?

If the sky could speak to you

in a voice of cobalt blue

   would her blessing remain

   the comfort of your days?

And if the stars were of a mind

to leave the night sky undefined

would true courage come of age

or would she flee back to the light?

But maybe we’ll live ten thousand years

wearing down the rocks with delusions and tears

Maybe we’ll be lost in timeless sand

tiny grains spilling slowly from your hand

If the truth spoke in a tongue

   known only to the young

would the graying dreams of fall

   be forotten by the wind?

And if I could reach you fair

   our pretensions rendered bare

for sky and stars and truth to sing

a song to bind us for all time . . .

then maybe we’ll live ten thousand years

wearing down the rocks with delusions and tears

Maybe we’ll find love in timeless sand

tiny grains resting gently in your hand

   If the mountain could walk

down to the sea so they could talk

   What would they say?

What would they say about you and me?
